Overview & Comments

  • Although Israel is a powerhouse regarding frontline UAS manufacturers of all categories, Steadicopter is the only Israeli company that has developed a rotary small tactical UAS
  • This category of systems is an extremely interesting one as the general notion was that unmanned small tactical rotary UAS are irrelevant due to the rise of multi-rotor drones and hybrid fixed wing / VTOL
  • But, due to the rise of these systems, which are great at their niche of missions, the advantages of the single rotor systems are now better understood
  • In general, their ability to carry a 5 kg payload for up to 4 hours when compared to multi-rotor drones, and hover for extensive periods of time when compared to the hybrid systems enable them to meet the requirement of specific mission needs
